An initial Assessment is conducted with most new prospective clients to:
Gain an in-depth understanding of key events in the individual’s life that may be relevant in helping solve the current problem
Determine what services we have available, if any, that will assist the individual in resolving the presenting problem(s)
If we have the appropriate resources to assist the individual, we present a service plan to the prospective client for his/her approval. If we are not the appropriate facility to assist the person, we will make referral suggestions.
If the prospective client agrees with the service plan, we begin the Orientation (See Orientation)
