Website: www.primeforlife.org Pro-Active Resources uses PRIME FOR LIFE (PRI) substance abuse education for Level 1, 2, & 3 education programs. This program's goal is to educate and reduce risk through a cognitive-behavioral, research-based approach that does not preach or use scare tactics to inform and educate participants. The information is presented with the use of DVD, workbook, and interactive programming that is based on documented research findings rather than opinion, exaggerations, and misinformation. This non-judgmental approach reduces resistance to the life-saving information contained in the program and increases participant's openness to the idea of change in their lives. PRIME FOR LIFE content is carefully selected to help people do a good personal evaluation of their risk factors and shows participants how to reduce their risk for alcohol and drug problems throughout their lives.
Pro-Active Resources uses the 12 Hour PRIME FOR LIFE (PRI) substance abuse education program because it is designed for groups whose members, ages 17-20 years old, are actively making high-risk choices and who may have incurred legal consequences or sanctions as a result of their alcohol or drug choices. Prevention Research Institute's PRIME FOR LIFE program is accepted in most high schools, colleges, states and for court-ordered offenses.
Our adolescent Level 1 Alcohol and Drug Education CARE Program meets monthly. Our program is intended for young adults who may be "at risk" of developing serious problems with alcohol and/or drugs and for parents interested in becoming more knowledgeable regarding the signs and symptoms of alcohol and drug use, abuse, and dependence. The program is designed to address the first time offender and/or the adolescent who has experienced early problematic behavior due to substance use. | |||||||||||||||
